Toshiba Launches High-Speed Response, Rail-to-Rail Dual-Channel Comparator for Overcurrent Detection in Industrial Equipment

December 24, 2025, Shanghai, China — Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation ("Toshiba") today announced the launch of the TC75W71FU, a new dual-channel CMOS comparator featuring high-speed response and rail-to-rail input/output (I/O). Designed for overcurrent detection in industrial equipment, this product significantly enhances system response speed and operational safety.

 

As industrial equipment power density continues to increase, motor drives and power circuits demand higher real-time performance and accuracy in overcurrent detection. The TC75W71FU offers substantially reduced propagation delay compared to existing models, with a maximum low-to-high delay of 45ns and a maximum high-to-low delay of 30ns. This enables rapid triggering of protective actions during overcurrent events, effectively preventing equipment damage and safety incidents.

 

The comparator supports a wide supply voltage range from 1.8V to Vcc and features rail-to-rail I/O capability, simplifying system design by eliminating the need for external pull-up resistors. Its push-pull output structure helps maintain signal stability, making it suitable for use in noisy industrial environments.

 

In addition to the TC75W71FU, Toshiba also announced two enhanced models: the TC75W72FU with improved noise immunity, and the TC75W73FU featuring an open-drain output for cross-voltage domain communication. These two products are scheduled to begin mass production in February 2026, further expanding options for industrial protection devices.
